I Said Yes… and Then Googled

Let’s talk about those moments when you say “yes” to God… and then immediately panic because you realize you have no idea what you’re doing.
You know the ones.
When you’re all fired up in your spirit like Yes, Lord, send me! — but then you’re like… Wait, send me where? And with what skillset exactly?
It’s funny how we assume that just because something is God-ordained, it’s going to come with clear instructions, a 10-step action plan, and maybe a PDF with bullet points and bolded prayers. Spoiler: it rarely does.
Instead, you’re often left staring at a blank screen or an empty notebook or an overwhelming idea thinking, “Cool cool cool… I guess I’ll just wing it and hope I don’t mess up the will of God.”
(Newsflash: You can’t. His will is a little sturdier than that.)
The Bible is full of people who were called before they were equipped. Moses was out in the wilderness when God told him to lead an entire nation — and the man stuttered. Gideon was hiding in a winepress when God called him a warrior. Mary was a teenage girl, not a CEO or a theologian, when God handed her the Son of God to carry.
So why do we think we’re supposed to have it all figured out?
God doesn’t hand us assignments based on our LinkedIn. He hands us assignments based on His glory.
And more often than not, He picks people who will have to depend on Him every step of the way — not because He likes watching us squirm, but because He knows where our help comes from. And He’d rather us build something sacred in faith than build something impressive in pride.
So yes — starting something new with God is awkward.
Yes — you might fail publicly before you get it right privately.
Yes — you might spiral into imposter syndrome and try to back out a dozen times.
But obedience doesn’t require expertise.
It just requires a heart that says, “Okay, Lord… I don’t know what I’m doing, but I trust that You do.”
And if you’re waiting to feel qualified before you move? You’ll wait forever.
Sometimes the most anointed projects start with holy panic, shaky faith, and a whole lot of googling. And honestly? That still counts.
Ain't you the one.....to tell it like it is. Love you !
